Yasumi Nakajima lived and worked in Osaka. He exhibited at the Osaka Prefectural and Municipal exhibitions and was a member of the All Japan Decorative Art Association. He also exhibited at the Nitten (Japan Art Exhibition). Nakajima won numerous prizes for his work with its flowing, elegantly stylised lines and abstract forms. Preferring the medium of bronze, his pieces glow with rich colour.
